Suppose you are building a 3.6m partition wall at 400mm stud centres, with a 2400mm ceiling height. Your cut list includes:

• 10 × studs at 2306mm (ceiling height minus two plate thicknesses)
• 2 × plates at 3600mm (top and bottom)
• 8 × noggins at 353mm (spacing between studs)
